Not All the Blood
Not all the blood
of beasts
On Jewish altars slain,
Could give the guilty conscience peace,
Or wash away the stain.
But Christ, the heavenly
Lamb,
Takes all our sins away:
A sacrifice of nobler name,
And richer blood than they.
My faith would lay its
hand
On that dear head of Thine,
While like a penitent I stand,
And there confess my sin.
My soul looks back to
see
The burden Thou didst bear,
When hanging on the accursed tree,
And knows its guilt was there.

Leviticus
4:33 And he shall lay his
hand upon
the head of the sin offering,
and slay it for a sin offering in the place
where they kill the burnt offering.
Revelation 5:12
Saying with a loud voice,
Worthy is the Lamb that was slain
to receive power, and
riches, and
wisdom, and strength,
and honour, and glory, and blessing.
