Witnessing To Mormon Women

By: Mary Van Nattan

Here is some information that could be useful to you in witnessing to Mormon ladies. The Mormons are now sending out young ladies as their missionaries so you may be able to deal with them at your own front door.

Also, you may meet Mormon ladies in other situations. To begin with, it is important to remember when you speak of or quote the Bible to a Mormon always say "the Bible" or "the King James Bible."  To them "the word of God" and "scripture" includes all the blasphemous writings of  their leaders. The King James Bible is the only Bible they respect, but they believe it is full of  errors. (Sound familiar?)

One thing you can tell a Mormon woman is that, as a female you do not need to be converted to Mormonism since Brigham Young taught that there are no females in hell. In Journal of  Discourses, Vol. 8, p. 222, he claimed, "I doubt whether it can be found, from the revelations that are given and  the facts as they exist, that there is a female in all the regions of hell. We are not complaining of not having more wives then one. I don't begin to have as many as I  shall have by and by, nor you either, if you are faithful."

Psalm 9:17 - The wicked shall be turned  into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

Revelation 21:8 - But the fearful, and unbelieving ,  and  the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars,  shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Note - If you use this thing by Brigham Young about females not going to hell, you might want to ask the lady why he even talked about hell when one of their other so called apostles said  there isn't any.  John A. Widsoe stated in Joseph Smith - Seeker After Truth, pp. 177-178, " The meanest sinner  will find some place in the heavenly realm....In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, there is no hell. All will find a measure of salvation.....The gospel of Jesus Christ has no hell."

If you are dealing with Mormon missionary girls, they will probably be single. You can point out to them that, according to their church, no one can go to the highest heaven single. You could ask them, if they should die single, how they would enjoy being the servants of the gods and goddesses who had temple-sealed marriages. Also, How will they be resurrected if they die  single and don't have a Mormon father, or if they marry a non-Mormon?

In her book Mormonism, Mama, and Me, Thelma "Granny" Geer writes that the Mormons  believe, "The woman must have a Mormon man who holds the Mormon priesthood to be her head. He is to resurrect her by calling her forth from the grave by the new name given her in the Mormon temple endowment and sealing ceremony."

1 Thessalonians 4:16 - For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, and with  the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

John 5:24-29 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that  sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death  unto life. 25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall  hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. 26 For as the Father hath life in  himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; 27 And hath given him authority to  execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. 28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is  coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29 And shall come forth;  they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the  resurrection  of damnation.

With either married or unmarried Mormon woman you can point out to them that if they do have a temple-sealed marriage when they die they will have the great privilege of being pregnant forever. They may try to say that it doesn't take 9 months to have a baby in heaven, or that  they'll procreate some other way. You can point out to them that Orson Pratt says in The Seer,  Vol. 1, No. 3, that the formation of a spirit baby may take less time than an earthly baby but he  also says that "... as heavenly things are, in many respects, typical of earthly, it is altogether  probable that that period required for the formation of the infant spirit, is of the same length as that required in this world for the organization of the infant tabernacle."

Matthew 22:29-30 - Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures,  nor the power of God. 30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

If they argue with you about something that you tell them their  church teaches tell them to ask whoever is over them or their bishop. Sometimes the bishop will not answer the questions. Sometimes they deny the past.

These are things for a saved lady to tell a Mormon lady. This is an exceedingly filthy religion, and while some feel that it is all right for women to witness to men, I would strongly encourage you to seek your husband's or father's counsel in regard to witnessing to Mormon men, especially  if you are a younger woman.
