Psalm 26:6-7 I will wash mine hands in innocency: so will I compass thine altar, O LORD: That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works.

See, in the woodland, the leaves turning crimson;
Hark, how they rustle and fall to the ground.
Autumn, bright autumn is smiling and glowing,
Showing the treasures that now may be found.

Praise the Creator who giveth us richly
All His good bounty to use and enjoy;
Lift up your hearts and your voices in singing,
Joyful thanksgiving the days should employ.

Julia H. Johnston

Psalm 69:30-32 I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving. This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hoofs. The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart shall live that seek God.

Psalm 95:1-3 O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

Numberless marks does man bear in his soul, that he is fallen and estranged from God;
but nothing gives a greater proof thereof, than that backwardness, which every one finds
within himself, to the duty of praise and thanksgiving.

George Whitefield

Psalm 100:1-5 A Psalm of praise. Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

Psalm 107:21-22 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.

Psalm 147:7-8 Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God: Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.

Thou Visiteth the Earth with Showers

Thou visiteth the earth with showers,
Thy boundless store supplies its need;
For fields enriched and well prepared
Thou dost provide the sower’s seed.

The furrows where the seed is sown
Are softened by Thy gentle rain;
Thy gracious care and providence
Supply and bless the springing grain.

The year with goodness Thou dost crown
Thy ways o’erflow with blessedness;
The hills and valleys, clothed with green,
Are joyful in their fruitfulness.

The pastures teem with flocks and herds,
The golden grain waves o’er the fields;
All nature, singing joyfully,
Her tribute of thanksgiving yields.

From The Psalter, 1912

Isaiah 51:3 For the LORD shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.

Jonah 2:9 But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.

Hebrews 13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

2 Corinthians 4:15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.

2 Corinthians 9:8 and 11 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: ...Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.

Our hymn of thanks we sing today;
Our hearts and voices raise,
To Him who, with a Father’s love,
Has guided all our ways:
The mercies of another year
Demand our grateful praise.

Jesus, accept the thanks we bring,
Unworthy though they be;
Thou didst of old let children sing
Hosannas unto Thee.
We too present our offering,
And join their harmony.

Solomon S. Allsop

Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Colossians 4:2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;

1 Timothy 4:1-5 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

Revelation 7:11-12 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.
