James
5:16 ...The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Much
has been written and said on the subject of prayer. Many "experts" have
held forth more or less profound thoughts on the subject. Many have declared that
it must be done this way or that way. Others have declared to have "discovered"
the "key" to "prevailing prayer." Some have claimed "special"
access to God through their "special" variety of prayer. This
page is not intended to be any of those. My desire is to set forth some simple
reflections and practical helps on the subject based on what the scripture says,
and to correct in some small measure some of the misconstrued ideas some people
teach and think about prayer. I am not an expert on prayer. I do not have a more
"wonderful prayer life" than anyone else. I am on speaking terms with
the King of kings and the God of the universe - but so is every believer who takes
their petitions to the throne of grace through Jesus Christ. Please join me in
reflecting upon the peculiar privilege and ministry that God has given to
all
who have come to Him through faith in Jesus Christ.
Hebrews
4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of
our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without
sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain
mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. | |
